Employee Spotlight: Jocoelyn Bergen
Meet Jocoelyn Bergen, the Level 2 MT NDT Technician at Red Flame Industries Inc. Jocoelyn has been with Red Flame Industries for nearly six years and has a bright future.
Jocoelyn has established quite the reputation among employees and clients who know her. It’s tough to put into words Jocoelyn’s importance but the reason we’re featuring her on our blog this month is to showcase our appreciation.
Jocoelyn always tries to be as diverse as possible and goes beyond her job scope to assist co-workers and all clients to make AM Inspection and Red Flame top notch. What makes her unique is that she never limits herself to just what she knows; she always tries to take on more and continues learning.
Jocoelyn always treats her co-workers with respect (she always says please and thank you!). She sets an excellent standard when it comes to making a difference on the job and knows when to be a leader. She’s got a diverse background that helps her be prepared on the job and learns from her mistakes and communicates them with her peers so that they don’t make the same mistake. She’s always asking questions and is very engaged.
She doesn’t have one favorite job that really sticks out to her since she always gets excited about new work and meeting new people. However, there was one recent job where she really stood out. She was working on a pipeline job and unfortunately, we had bad luck with both of our trucks breaking down simultaneously. This put increased pressure on the crew to use two different types of film and keep the pace up doing so. Jocoelyn had to develop film in 1-2 shots, while the CEDOs had to shoot 1-2 shots at a time. The Level II had extra film to interpret, making the entire project much more complex. They were able to organize and get into a groove where they were able to keep up. It proved to the crew that they could work faster, harder, and beyond their normal work-load because the two-shot pipe shots make work that much harder. They hadn’t experienced that type of situation before, but they managed it extremely well, and the client was very happy.
When we asked Jocoelyn about why she enjoys working with us, she said: “I have had a great time working for AM Inspection and Red Flame Industries so far. As with every company, you always hit a few rough patches, but even through all of that, the staff has always been a highlight for me and makes work the greatest. I love it here.”
What does Jocoelyn do outside of work? “During my off time, I like fishing, quadding, snowmobiling, camping, hiking, basically, anything to keep me outside. Another match for me with work is I’m constantly outside and I enjoy that. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends, singing, dancing, walking my dogs, and I used to take in rescues but with work, I’ve had to take a bit of a break from that. I’m always up for something new and trying something out!”
